What is so special about this marker? Yes, it's fascinating because it is 0. But do you know where it is located? Every point in the country originates from this marker.
Every Sunday, I walk about 2.4 km from our home to do my stretching and start jogging from this historical place. Not a lot of Filipinos know that this special marker is just opposite Rizal's monument in Rizal Park.
This marker is very practical, too. I hold on to it while doing my routine exercises. Hahaha. From this point, I jog 1.5 km to the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
After another round of stretching at CCP, I trek back to the historical marker. I walk alone leisurely trying to capture the feel of a Sunday morning. There are many surprises along the way. I'll bring along my camera next time and show you the dynamic interactions of people.
I am what I eat? In that case, I'd be a lot of things. I am a voracious eater. I eat almost anything. From the dreaded bitter gourd (ampalaya) to raw garlic.
There was a time that I did not eat REAL vegetables. My taste buds were friendly only to potatoes, tomatoes and eggplant (technically, the last two are considered fruits!). The rest were meat, red and white.
Vegetable to me was an alien concept.
But as I age slowly, vegetables seem like a long, lost friend. They are there all the while, giving me nutrition even as disregarded them.
There was also a time I pondered on becoming a true-blue vegetarian. But I love seafoods. So I abandoned the idea.
No matter. Food is food. I celebrate each meal as if it were the last. (Ooops, don't forget to say grace before and after each meal.)
